Resumo

Segundo o Relatório Nacional PISA 2018 – PORTUGAL (IAVE, 2019), Portugal obteve 492 pontos em literacia matemática no ciclo de 2018, três pontos acima da média da OCDE (489 pontos). Comparando os resultados alcançados em 2018 com os de ciclos anteriores, verifica-se um aumento significativo de 26 pontos relativamente a 2003, de 5 pontos relativamente a 2012, não se tendo alterado significativamente (mais 0,9 pontos) entre o ciclo de 2015 e o de 2018. Tendo superado pela primeira vez a média da OCDE, constituíram estes resultados estímulo suficiente para conferir um novo impulso à educação matemática?

According to the PISA National Report 2018 - PORTUGAL (IAVE, 2019), Portugal obtained 492 points in mathematical literacy in the 2018 cycle, three points above the OECD average (489 points). Comparing the results achieved in 2018 with those of previous cycles, there is a significant increase of 26 points in relation to 2003, of 5 points in relation to 2012, having not changed significantly (plus 0.9 points) between the cycle of 2015 and the 2018. Having exceeded the OECD average for the first time, were these results sufficient stimulus to give a new impetus to mathematics education?
